About
Ntaba Nyoni

At Ntaba Nyoni Cattle we are passionate about cattle! We have been in the cattle business for 20 years. Our livestock farm is located 17 km outside of Badplaas in the Mpumalanga Province in sour grass, heart and red water area. Our cattle farming endeavours have gone through a number of stages over two decades, and we have learned to innovate and adapt.

Our philosophy is built on three pillars: acquire the best genetics of the cattle we breed with, good record keeping and good management. We  currently maintain five studs where we breed Ankole, Boran, Bonsmara, Nguni and Wagyu cattle. Our Ankole, Boran and Bonsmara stud herds have grown to a point where we can hold production auctions annually.

The
Studs

Our stud-farming journey started with President Rampahosa’s visit to Uganda in 2004 and the attraction he found there to Ankole Cattle.

Following this irresistible attraction to the majestic Ankole, we then bought 40 cows and 3 bulls from President Museveni. The embryos of these cattle were finally brought to South Africa and they are the foundation of the Ankole stud cattle that are in South Africa today.

In the course of bringing Ankole to South Africa we also brought Boran embryos and started a Boran Stud herd. We have continued to see great value in stud farming focusing on acquiring the best genetics and breeding good quality cattle.

Today Ntaba Nyoni Cattle has 5 stud cattle breeds: Ankole, Bonsmara, Boran, Nguni and Wagyu.

Our Ankole, Boran and Bonsmara stud herds have grown to a point where we can hold production auctions annually.

Boran

In the course of bringing Ankole to South Africa we also brought Boran embryos and started a Boran Stud herd. We have continued to see great value in stud farming focusing on acquiring the best genetics and breeding good quality cattle. We are auction ready.
