The majestic Ankole

Ankole are large cattle with long, thick horns, which can grow up to 1.8 m (6 ft.) long. They have a rusty red coats and may be solid in colour or be speckled. They are able to adapt to harsh and extreme weather conditions from cold and rainy weather to hot, dry desert climates. They are able to thrive on low-quality forage and are highly disease and tick resistant, making them a robust and practical breed. The cattle are renowned for their lean meat and excellent milk quality, making them a sought-after dual breed. Ankole cattle are perfectly suited to all conditions in South Africa and have a bright future in this country.
